Who Said It Would Be Easier Raising Boys?

I'm not sure who told me this but I feel differently! It all started out with a trip to wal-mart. All was going semi-well until they wanted to look at the toys. So as we headed back there we talked about what they could get. (they each have blow money) As we looked at things for awhile Alyssa and Brendyn picked out something that I agreed with, well Joshua kept picking out toys that were $34 and up. I tried telling him that he didn't have enough money. What was I thinking? At this point it was his way or way. So after 15 min or so (and giving him tons of options) I finally said that I was counting to 5 then we were heading out. I counted but he stood his ground, he was not going to put it back. I decided instead of fighting him I would at the check out. I have had to carry him out of the store many times screaming and wanted the shortest show possible. So the entire time I was going to the front we talked about him having to put it back. I don't think he really cared.

As we approached the counter Joshua threw it on the counter before I could say anything and the man scanned. He felt like he had won. He looked at me and said "he scanned it so now I have to take it". Boy was he wrong!! I told the man to please take it off. Well this started a tantrum I have never seem Joshua throw. The poor guy got so distracted by the fit that he messed up twice and it took for ever. Joshua was screaming on the top of his lungs and had everyone's attention. It was at this time I took the change said "thank you" and tried getting out the door.

At this time Joshua is trying to get out of the cart. After throwing himself on the ground in front of the exit door so no one could leave I tried to pick him up. He turned around hit my lip and busted it open then scratched my chin making it bleed also. I know have a screaming child, blood running down my face and Brendyn trying to walk away from us. At that point I wanted to walk away too. It took 30 min to get to the car and another 15 min to get him in his car seat. So many people stopped to stare but no one offered help. I wish someone would have called the police. I know that isn't nice but as he tried to kick the window out of the car I need someone to intervene. I know this was a long story and I left somethings out but I was so upset at the end I felt I need to write it down so I can show him this when he is older. :) The entire fit lasted 2 hrs. I can't wait to go back to wal-mart!

Now the next one isn't as long. The boys seem to be getting into everything lately. I can't leave them alone for 5 min. Brendyn is mentally around 3 years so for him it is age appropriate, Joshua is just crazy. Here is a few things that have happened in the last couple weeks.

* We have had to order window locks because Brendyn and Joshua will climb out Brendyn's window to get on the roof.

* Brendyn was in our room watching tv and decided to empty all the containers in our bathroom. That's right all my Mary Kay face cleaner (about $100 worth), body soap, cleaning supplies, glitter gel (alyssa's), perfume bottles, toothpaste, and lotion. 0

* They also like to put hole in the wall when ever they can find something to do it with

* Get up in the middle of the night and take food to their rooms and them hide the trash or left overs. We now have to lock all or food up all the time.

* Tonight they were playing in Brendyn's room (thats what they told me) I was fixing dinner and they yelled down the stairs "don't worry mommy we r making a big mess in Brendyn's room". So I said well go clean it up so we can eat. Alan went to check for me and came back and told me that it was my room not Brendyn's. They had totally destroyed my closet. So here are some pictures of that.

I love all my children but right now my girls are easier than the boys! I just keep telling myself that this to shall pass!

ok im having problems with my computer and down loading pics so I will try again later. Have a good night!

A very busy Tooth Fairy

For some reason getting his picture taken showing his missing teeth was upsetting to him. He's so cute, even when he looks upset.
Big sister showed him how to do it!
Alyssa and Brendyn are getting to the age where they are losing their teeth. Which is one thing I don't handle very well. It just grosses me out. Then I have to act like it doesn't bother me so they won't freak out too. Anyway, they are so proud and they wanted me to show you all their empty spaces in the their mouths. So enjoy.
Alyssa lost her last tooth when we spent the afternoon at the mall and had lunch. She was eating her taco and it just fell out. She is such a trooper. Losing teeth doesn't bother her a bit.

The one Brendyn just lost was only loose for a couple of days. He can't handle it being loose so he just messes with it until it comes out. We were at a Birthday party Saturday when he wouldn't stop messing with it. He kept walking around saying " almost got it". The when he finally pulled it out he said "YES! I got it!" He was so excited he went around to everyone in Burger King showing them he had lost a tooth. It was so funny.

Super Bowl Party

So we decided to have a few friends over for the super bowl. We had Kelly, Isaiah, Sophia, Jennifer, Bryan, Andrew, Stacy, Naiona, Duran, and Little Anthony come over. We enjoyed food, the game and just getting to hang out with each other. The kids had a really good time running around the house screaming and playing star wars. James made his favorite spicy chili and I made nachos, fruit plate, chocolate chip cookies, popcorn and then the others brought snacks too. There was plenty to eat!

We decided to cheer for the Saints team. Why... because they had never been to the super bowl before(James reason). I picked them because I liked their colors better than the other team. Anyway, I only got to watch a little bit due to the fact we were in the kitchen or dealing with the kids. I let James have football games to himself because I know its a guy thing and he can't miss a minute. I'm ok with that the girls and I enjoy talking more anyway so it all works out for everyone. I hope the team that won was the team you were going for. If it wasn't then to bad better next time.

He is such a good friend

Our little man
This came from Joshua last night when getting ready for bed. (He sometimes needs to wear a pull up at night) As we were in the bathroom putting the pull up on he said "mommy last night Jesus helped me not to potty in the bed. He is such a good friend. I hope he helps me tonight". I thought that was so smart of him to think of Jesus as a friend and realize that he can help him at such a young age. Even with the small things like not wetting the bed. Sometimes as adults we have trouble remembering that. Good thing we have kids around to help us remember. Joshua has been asking a lot of questions lately about God and wondering about everything.

The other day we went to go look at new cars and the one we ended up liking was blue. Joshua's favorite color. When we were leaving he was upset and didn't understand why we couldn't take the car right then. James said "well we have to go home and pray about it. Why don't you pray to Jesus and let me know what he tells you." I knew where this was going. Joshua got quiet for a minute and then said "he said yes! Jesus said we could have the car." James and I laughed and said we needed to wait and see what he told us. Joshua then said "ok he's going to say yes". He was very sure that we were going to get the same answer. Well I'm sorry to say that we didn't get the same answer and that we will all have to wait to hear "yes".

Play time

Well today we had a snow day. So we decided to spend it just chilling around the house. By the afternoon the 3 little ones where ready to go play in the snow. After getting them dressed they headed out to play. Here are some pictures of their playtime.
This is Brendyn undoing what daddy had just done. He was working so hard and singing at the same time. He was so proud of what he did. He was smiling the entire time. It was cute. The kids eating snow. I can't stop Joshua from doing this. He even will try this at the store in the parking lot! It is so gross. So this time when it started to snow we put a bowl on the deck to catch the snow. Now Joshua has his own big bowl of clean snow to eat.

Battle Wound

So two years ago James went out with the SWAT team to practice shooting. Well, during this time James got a piece of a gun shell in his arm. One of the guys there said "you'll be fine just put a band aid on it". Are you kidding me? He had a small hole in his arm. I didn't see it until a few days later because, I would have made him go to the doctor and he knew that.

So the pictures you see are what it looked like a few weeks ago. (the dark piece you see is the bullet) He had pain in his arm and if you accidentally touched it he would get a shooting pain in his arm. Good thing the band aid worked! So I finally made him go to the doctor. They wanted him to get an e-ray but surprise he never did. Then it started to work its way out. I thought it was kind of cool. It really grossed Miranda out. So everyday little by little it came out and eventually it did. I still have the little piece of metal that came out. Just as a reminder so if this happens again he will know what to do.
