Pumpkin Cake

Last night grandma Lauren called and asked if she could bring us a cake. Of course we said "yes". When she got here we got the kids up and enjoyed the cake. It was so cute and tasted great. Thanks Grandma! Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween. I will put pics up tomorrow of all of our Halloween fun.

Stairs Surfing

As I was making dinner tonight I heard lots of laughter coming from my three little ones. Then I could hear a crash. So I went to go see what was so funny and here is what I saw.

Yes, they were taking a baby mattress and sliding down the stairs. I thought is was funny and was impressed to see that they were somewhat (as much as you can) sliding down safely. Until, my 7 year old Brendyn tried to do it standing up. I wasn't as eager for them to try it this way. Needles to say they had a great time while I was preparing for dinner. For the first time in a while I wasn't breaking up fighting! Of course dad had something to say when he came home for dinner. Anyone else surprised by this?! If you know James you would understand. The boy who used to throw knifes at his brother for fun. O how being a parent changes you!

Pumpkin Fun

On Saturday we decided to go to Peach Trees Farm with some friends. It ended up being a beautiful day, just a little muddy. The kids had a good time, well most of them. Brendyn was not impressed with anything, until we left and got french fries. While we were there we feed animals, took a hayride, went through a hay maze, got put in jail and played in side a tp. As we were leaving we remembered that we could have gotten our faces painted. So to make up for that we went and played at Burger King. All was forgiven.

After that busy day I needed a nap. So my wonderful friend, Jennifer took my kids to her house to play. I went home and took a little nap. It was great! The teens and I then went to rent movies and get pizza. The kids were excited to see.... the pizza. I was told to leave and come back later. It is starting already :(
All in all it was a good day. I am glad we got to spend the day with Jennifer and Andrew.
Here is who is in the pictures. (Alan went with us but didnt let me take any pictures of him)
1. Brendyn, Miranda, Heather, Joshua, Andrew, and Alyssa.
2. Miranda, Brendyn, and Mom (Brendyn did not want his picture taken)
3. Andrew, Alyssa, and Joshua

Feeling Better

Well I am happy to say that after all night praying over Brendyn, he finally drank his meds this morning! The kids are now pulling out all their toys and playing with them. So there went the clean house :) I much rather have a dirty house than sick kids. Well I am still very tired so I must go take a little nap.

But before I go I just want to say "thanks" to James for all his hard work! He has missed 3 days of work to help out around the house and help take care of the kids and me. He is such a great father and husband! We are so blessed to have him.

One more thing. Surprised to see Brendyn dressed? Well as soon as I was done taking the picture it was off :) He is so silly.

Swine Flu!

It is confirmed that 6 out of the 8 people here have the swine flu. James and Alan are the only two that are healthy so far. The doctor still put them on meds hoping to keep the healthy. Brendyn and I have it the worst :( I have two meds and must use my inhalers 4 times a day. If Brendyn doesnt start drinking and taking his meds he will end up in the hospital tomorrow. So hopefully we can get him to take them.

It is so sad to see your little one suffer so. He just lays there with a blank stare on his face. Well I better go. The kids are needing me. I hope everyone has a good day and stays healthy.

Sick of Being Sick and Tired

Out of 8 people 6 are sick. Me and 5 kids are sick, so we decided to make the family room the "sick room". We brought down some extra mattresses and are having a little camp out. It is easier than running upstairs, downstairs and upstairs again.
We all are going to the doctors tomorrow to be tested for the swine flu. Hopefully it isn't that serious.
Our basement is moving right along and they will sheet rock , mud and tape tomorrow and the next day. So by Friday they should have the painter here! The girls are really excited about there new room, new furniture and a "girls only" bathroom. They got to pick out everything in there bedroom and bathroom. So get ready for the bright colors they picked. I think it will look great!
Today I got my new Hanns floor cleaner. It is an easier way to mop your floor. And it takes just a few seconds to dry. James got to try it out and loves it. He has moped the entire hard floor! Hopefully this excitment will last him awhile :)
Well I better go I have meds I need to hand out. I hope everyone else is doing well and is enjoying this nice weather.

A Full House

This weekend was going to be quiet and relaxing, so I thought. I got a call Friday afternoon that one of our old foster girls needed a babysitter this weekend so she could go to an interview. With that I took her 14 month old daughter and 1 month old son.

Later that same day I got another call from a young lady that we help out a lot that her grandma was sick and in the hospital. She needed me to take her 3 young children ages 6, , and 19 months.

With that being said my relaxing weekend went out the window! Anyway we have been very busy and closer than usual because we have no basement to go to. They said it should be done the first week in Nov. We are very excited. We went downstairs today so the kids could tell me where they wanted everything to go. I think in the end it will turn out very nice. James and i just have to agree on a color for the basement now. If you have any suggestions please feel free to let us know.

James has off tomorrow and because I worked so hard this weekend he is letting me go have a girls day with my friend Kelly. We plan to have lunch, shop for our house and her new house and get our nails done. I can't wait!

Well I have a baby crying now and must get everyone in bed because there is church in the morning. I hope you all have a wonderful, quiet night. :)

House update

Today the electric people came and did work in the basement. Yesterday it was the pluming people and they put our shower in. All the kids were so excited. Now they are fighting about who gets to sleep in the new bedrooms downstairs. I think that we have figured out were everyone is going and were all the furniture is going. Cross your fingers that everyone is happy...ya right. I know James will be because he is getting a man cave. Miranda and I are enjoying planning for it and picking out things for his room. I think he will be very pleased with how it will turn out. It is going to be very manly!

Alyssa and I got to have a girls day. We went to therapy, did some shopping and had some lunch. It was a fun and relaxed day. While we were out the boys had time together. They got the car inspected, had Mcdonalds and watched TV. It was a full day for everyone.

Miranda had play practice tonight. She has a part in Grease! We are very excited about this because it is one of our favorite movies to watch together. It will be Nov. 20-22 and I will get back to you on how much it is. So mark your calendars!

Well that's all I have for now. Have a wonderful night.

Pumpkin Time

So tonight we decorated our pumpkins. The kids had a great time. This is something that they enjoy doing every year.
Well I must go we are having our basement finished and I must get up early to unlock the door so the men can get to work.

Family Picture

I am going to try again :) I think it worked!

First Blog

Last night we went out and got a new computer. This should make it easier to keep up with this blog. So I am going to try and down load a family picture. Here goes :)
